Dear Senator (name)

I am writing to ask that you reconsider your position and attitude toward John Ashcroft, Attorney General of the United States.

You and 41 others were participants in a highly orchestrated effort on the part of a number of individuals and groups which viciously assaulted the character and integrity of Attorney General Ashcroft, with full intent to block his confirmation by the U.S. Senate. These individuals and groups with strong support from high profile persons in the mainstream media have produced undeniable evidence that they have abandoned those basic Judeo/Christian values which are critically important to the ongoing survival, well being, and stability of a culture such as ours! By your own involvement in this conspiracy you are sending a message that you also hold to a value system which is ethically, morally, and spiritually bankrupt! This was most evident in the attacks against John Ashcroft for his Christian faith, strong pro-family, pro-life, and anti-abortion convictions. Will you people never learn that there is really no such thing as a “constitutional right” to destroy an unborn child? It is not a right but rather an insane decision that mocks the ordinances of life established by the Creator of this mighty universe. Easily forgotten is the fact that the God who makes your life and my life and our daily existence possible has clearly revealed that He identifies us before conception and birth and that He has a purpose for each of us on this earth. Further, this God in His sovereign majesty claims to be involved in the formation of each human in her/his mother’s womb!

Common sense should tell us that it is more than a minor offense to step in, interrupt, and destroy that which God is in the process of forming for His planned and often mysterious purposes on earth. Our disgraceful and violent record at this point is at least 40 million unborn victims due to our nation’s daily practice of the “shedding of innocent blood” over the past 28 years! Other cultures in the past experienced disaster when life was devalued and became insignificant, with many lying in ruins and all their citizens in the graves. Tell me, senator, can you identify a Canaanite in today’s world? Are you so foolish as to believe that we can escape the judgment of a holy God if we fail to repent of this abomination as well as from our rampant idolatry?

You can make a significant contribution by apologizing to President Bush, John Ashcroft, and the American people for your participation in the conspiracy to block the Attorney General’s confirmation. Further, you can go on record as to the urgent need for our nation to strictly adhere to the clearly defined spiritual and moral standards which have been revealed by the living God, and intentionally involve yourself in those efforts which seek to terminate the destruction of the unborn before this same God reacts by displaying His undiluted judgmental wrath!
