No Loopholes!
Doing Away with the Traditional Family!

“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” ---Genesis 2:24

“Jesus replied, ‘Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.’” ---Matthew 18:8,9

As America stands idly by, new and greater attacks are being made against this country. Surprisingly to some, these are coming from within at the same time foreign terrorists are working to destroy our nation. However, the attacks from within are not physical but efforts to tear down our culture and the foundations of our civilization.

The current targets of these attacks are the American family and the fathers of the families. Realizing that the strength of America has been in its strong family base, radical feminists, homosexual groups and advocates of political correctness have decided to accomplish their agendas by doing away with the concept of a family consisting of a mother, father and children; thereby, ending the idea of marriage as has existed over the centuries throughout the world. Feminist groups are pushing women to be ashamed of being a homemaker and a mother. They are told to seek fulfillment in other ways.

This new attitude toward marriage and family can be seen in a recent study by Rutgers University’s National Marriage Project. It found that, unlike preceding generations, young men and women in their 20’s are simply not interested in finding marriage partners when they date. The study tells what they are looking for in its title,.”Sex Without Strings, Relationships without Rings.” The report found that young Americans: favor living together as a try-out for marriage or as an alternative to marriage; believe sex is fun and has no strings attached; have a fear of divorce; and see marriage (divorce) as a potential economic liability.” This new attitude can be traced back to the “free love” concept and selfishness of the 60’s generation. Unfortunately, these teachings are being perpetuated by our government schools which are pushing “self-esteem.” “I’m number one,” and “All that is important is that I am happy.” Add to these ideas the sex education being pushed by Planned Parenthood and other “free sex” groups and one can quickly understand why we have so many “mixed up” kids living lives of despair, hopelessness and loneliness.

What is so often overlooked in the destruction of the family unit, besides the irreparable damage done to the children, is the huge economic impact on our society and the unbelievable government bureaucracy being created to handle the problems arising from this human disaster that government has helped create.

And as divorce becomes easier and more families are being destroyed, a giant industry has sprung up. A huge complex of legal, social services and psychotherapists have come about to offer assistance to the very families which are being done away with by the impact of such liberal groups. With the elimination of the father from many homes, government welfare has graciously stepped in to take over the family and mold it into a unit completely dependent on the government aid. While these groups profess to be interested in the welfare of the children, it is the children who are suffering most from the broken homes and the government “take-over” of their lives.

The time has come, in fact long past due, for the Christian Church to come out of its doldrums and address the matter of the family and the importance of it to the children and the future of our nation.
